Ant control
How to Get Rid of Ant Trails in Your Kitchen for Good
You wipe down the worktop, and an hour later the ants are back, following the exact same line to the same spot. Cleaning and spraying the trail feels productive, but the ants you can see are just the workers — the real problem is a hidden nest sending out thousands more.
In Marbella's warm months, ants pour indoors looking for sugar, grease and water. To stop the trail for good, you have to reach the colony, not just the counter.
Killing the trail doesn't kill the nest
The ants on your worktop are foragers. Behind them is a colony — often inside a wall, under paving or in the garden — with a queen that can lay thousands of eggs. Wiping or spraying the trail removes today's workers, but the nest simply sends out more tomorrow.
This is why a problem that seems to disappear after cleaning always comes back within a day or two.
Why shop sprays backfire
Contact sprays kill foragers on sight, which feels satisfying but can actually make things worse. Some species respond to chemical sprays by 'budding' — splitting the colony into several new nests — leaving you with more trails, not fewer.
Repellent products also push ants to find new entry routes, so you end up chasing the problem around the house.
How we treat ants at the source
We identify the species and follow the trails back to the nest. Then we use targeted baits that the workers carry home and feed to the colony, eliminating the queen and the nest from the inside. Finally, we apply a discreet perimeter barrier to keep new colonies out.
It's slower than a spray for the first day or two — because the bait needs time to travel — but it's what actually ends the problem. Here's how our ant control in Marbella works.
Frequently asked questions
Why shouldn't I just spray the ants I see?
Spraying kills foragers but can split the colony into new nests. Baiting the nest is what stops the trail permanently.
How long until the ants are gone?
Trails usually drop within a few days as the bait reaches the colony, with full control shortly after.
Are the baits safe around pets?
Yes — they're placed in discreet, controlled points and are safe when used as directed.
